Prof. Dr.-Ing. Astrid Nieße

Astrid Nieße is Professor of Digitized Energy Systems at the University of Oldenburg and spokesperson for the GI's Energy Informatics Division.


Her research focuses on informatics issues in future energy systems. She is particularly enthusiastic about topics of self-organization and its application for post-fossil resilient-adaptive energy systems.

Astrid Nieße is (co-)organizer of numerous national and international workshops and conferences in this thematic environment, member of the BMBF Platform Learning Systems, as well as of the ACM SIG e-Energy. As a member of the Energy Division Board at OFFIS - Institute of Computer Science, she is committed to inter- and transdisciplinary applied energy informatics research with a focus on sustainable design of technical systems, among others in the Center for Digital Innovations Lower Saxony (ZDIN).
