Volker Gruhn holds the Chair of Software Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen. His research focus relates to software processes for the development of data-driven and mobile applications as well as cyber-physical systems. Previously, he held professorships at the Universities of Dortmund and Leipzig.
Volker Gruhn is founder and chairman of the supervisory board of Dortmund-based adesso SE. The company, which currently employs 5,000 people, specializes in strategic and technological consulting services in the field of modern software technologies. He is also a member of the advisory board of BiPRO e.V., the university council of the University of Leipzig, the board of trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering, and the supervisory board of e-Spirit AG.
