Professor Katja Mombaur is the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Human-Centred Robotics and Machine Intelligence. She is an expert on human-robot interaction, wearable and humanoid robots, and human motion analysis.
She studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart and in Toulouse and received her PhD in mathematics in 2001. Since 2010, she has been a professor at the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing at Heidelberg University. There, she heads the working group "Optimization in Robotics and Biomechanics" as well as the robotics laboratory.
