Prof. Dr. Alexander Paar

Vice President of the Dual University of Schleswig-Holstein

After studying computer science at the Technical University of Clausthal and the University of Karlsruhe (TH), Paar earned his doctorate in practical computer science as a research assistant at the Institute for Program Structures and Data Organization (IPD) at the University of Karlsruhe (TH). After stays as a visiting scientist at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California in Irvine and at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, he held positions including software architect for business intelligence at Plath GmbH in Hamburg and TWT GmbH Science & Innovation in Stuttgart, which he left as Business Unit Manager Digital Transformation to take up his teaching position at the DHSH. Since September 2019, he has been teaching, among other things, data management and artificial intelligence in the Department of Information Systems at DHSH in Kiel. He was also elected to the university's Executive Board as Vice President in 2020.
